About Michelle Kolb

Hello! My name is Michelle Kolb and I am the owner/operator of Moondog Motion. I have been dancing all of my life and teaching creative movement and Pilates for over a decade.

I was introduced to Pilates while taking a hiatus from dancing in 2001.  Twenty years of intense dance training and performing left my body with multiple chronic injuries and I was disheartened to think that I would never dance again. It was during these sessions that my body underwent a deep re-balancing and realignment. I was hooked!The healing of my body allowed me to do what I was meant to do again, DANCE! I never would have imagined that I would be performing again, particularly classical ballet. This is why Pilates and dance are so intertwined in my life. I decided I wanted to share my passion for Pilates with others.  In 2011, I received my Pilates certification from Pilates Sports Center, Studio City.

During the final decade of my career, I began teaching dance classes for specific populations that had physical or mental challenges. These included classes for children with Down’s Syndrome and Autism as well as adults experiencing various Neurological disorders, recovering from Sroke, and going through Cancer treaments .After my physical limitations made themselves known, I retired from the professional stage a couple of years ago. I continue to teach the elderly population with various disabilities. I knew I would never stop dancing entirely.The mind and body awakenings, the pure joy, and the emotional release that I witness in my classes are truly inspiring! The relationships that I have made with my students have become an invaluable part of my life. It is an honor for me to teach these classes. This style of class fills my heart and spirit in the most magical way!

After many years of of hearing from others that I have a healing touch and presence, I decided to take level one Reiki training and receive a Reiki attunement. It is still early in my practice of this healing modality but I have received positive feedback from my sessions. I look forward to continuing my practice.


Movement is my life! My goal for my Pilates sessions is to have my clients leave their session feeling invigorated, elongated, stronger, more aligned and ever present in their life. My goal for my dance classes is to provide technical skills as well as a safe space for my students to express themselves and connect with others in their community, through movement. My goal in my Reiki sessions is to provide a space for energetic healing and a deeply relaxing, self care opportunity for my clients.
